Homework 1: Research

Hello Again!
Just a reminder about the Homework. You would have started this in lesson, so it's not as long as it may look!

1. a. Print your own copy of the poem
o You must analyse the poem in further detail & annotate around the poem
(you can write around the poem, make notes, make links between words, draw
Write your own ideas, find out word meanings)
o Then you need to print a photograph /picture/painting that you think relates to your poem and
write how it relates to your poem

2. a. You then must research a professional dance work that uses a prop,
· Write Down the Name of the dance
· Write Down how they use the prop
· whether you could use the same prop in your own dance (remember it’s a winter theme & we are travelling...so no a cupboard is not a good prop!)
· has it helped you to think of a prop that you might be able to use?

3. Bring in a umbrella, scarf, gloves and hat to use the following week & your own choice of prop

4. Update your journal

Writing Your Blog

Below are the guidelines for writing your blog. They are compulsory to write, if you wish to add more (including photographs) you may.
  • An entry for P1 & 2
  • An entry for P3 & 4
  • You must explain what your task was during this lesson
  • Who you worked with
  • What you did to complete the task
  • If you shared any work
  • How did you feel about your own work?
  • How could you improve?
  • What did you do best?
  • How did you feel about the work of others that you saw?
  • How could they improve?
  • Is this work ongoing? Will you need to do more to it to finish it?
  • You should include some technical terminology in your writing, such as ‘performance skills', 'stimulus', 'gesture', 'choreography', 'dynamics', 'freeze frame',
  • optional: to write the movements you created or learnt within lesson

You need to be clear about whether you learnt anything new or improved your skills in something. The examiner is looking for evidence that you have improved during the year.
